Mafatlal forays into fashion apparels

Chandigarh, Jun 6 (UNI) Prominent name in manufacturing of high quality white fabric, uniforms and Denim Mafatlal Industries Limited (MIL) today announced to enter into fashion apparels business under the brand ‘Trendz’.

Interacting with media here, MIL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Aniruddha Deshmukh said the launching of apparels will start from the Northern states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu Kashmir as the region is perceived to be an important market for the company after the West where it already has a presence with more than 150 family owned shops.

“Our aim is to provide quality fashion apparels, include shirts, T-shirts, denims, to the customers at affordable prices and this has become possible only by using our own fabric in stitching of these. Initially, the apparels will be available at authorised retails counters and multi brands outlets in North and company owned shops in the West. We do have plans to expand to the other markets of the country,” Mr Deshmukh said.

More than Rs 1,300 crore company, MIL has been exporting fabric and denim to some of the international brands like VF Marks & Spencer, Jack & Jones, ZARA, Tommy Hilfiger and leading domestic brands like Killer, Muffti, Spykar, Allen Solly and many other, he claimed.
